OCI Founder and CEO featured in St. Louis Business Journal
ST. LOUIS, MO - The St. Louis Business Journal is a weekly paper covering the St. Louis business community. Each week it offers a feature, entitled "St. Louis Character," highlighting a local business leader, and includes background on their business activities as well as their personal histories, hobbies, community activities, and social networks. It also includes quotes from other well known St. Louisians about that person.
The November 6th edition featured Object Computing, Inc. (OCI) founder and CEO, Dr. Ebrahim Moshiri.
A synopsis of the article is available at http://stlouis.bizjournals.com/stlouis/stories/2009/11/09/story14.html
In the article Dr. Moshiri discusses his passion for applying technology to the delivery of heathcare. This is an area he describes as being 20 years behind the times based on what other industries are doing.
OCI is currently engaged at applying its open source software skills on the NHIN (Nationwide Health Information Network) CONNECT project, which is developing health information exchange technology. The goal of a health information exchange is to ensure that any medical professional can access the records of the patient at the time of treatment. This avoids duplicate testing, ensures medical professionals see an integrated patient view at all times, enables comparison with best of class treatment protocols, and enables better insight into public health issues by means of anonymous data mining.
