OCI to lead a group at the next NHIN CONNECT Code-A-Thon

ST. LOUIS, MO - The next CONNECT Code-A-Thon wil be held in Portland Oregon, November 19th and 20th. Some 150 developers from leading technology providers will be attending. The Nationwide Health Information Network is sponsoring the activity. CONNECT is an important software project which will allow easy access by healthcare providers to complex patient information. A significant amount of time and money is wasted when records are not available in a timely manner.

ST. LOUIS, MO - The St. Louis Business Journal is a weekly paper covering the St. Louis business community. Each week it offers a feature, entitled "St. Louis Character," highlighting a local business leader, and includes background on their business activities as well as their personal histories, hobbies, community activities, and social networks. It also includes quotes from other well known St. Louisians about that person.

ST. LOUIS, MO - OCI attended the NHIN CONNECT Code-A Thon last Thursday at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C., contributing time and expertise to the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) open source software system known as CONNECT. NHIN CONNECT integrates healthcare information from many providers, enabling Healthcare Information Exchanges at state and national levels. The Code-A-Thon forum brought together leading software developers & contributors for a hands-on collaborative session to establish CONNECT as the most viable software product for Health Information Exchanges.
OCI selected by US Navy for the Phase 2 of Simulation Project

ST. LOUIS, MO - The Naval Air Systems Command of the United States Navy (NAVAIR) has notified OCI this week that it has been selected from the three Phase I contractors to be the sole supplier to the Phase II project for mission simulation software. NAVAIR at Patuxent River, Md., is managing the overall project, which is being carried out under the auspices of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program.

OCI announces the Release of QuickFAST

ST. LOUIS, MO - The financial services practice of OCI has developed, and today released, an open source version of the FAST standard. It is called QuickFAST.The FAST [SM] (Fix Adapted for STreaming) protocol was developed by FIX Protocol Limited [FPL] as a way to reduce the bandwidth and network-latency required to distribute market data without incurring excessive CPU costs. It is being widely adopted in the financial industry.
