OCI at the Strange Loop Conference

ST. LOUIS, MO – 21 software practitioners from OCI attended the third annual Strange Loop Conference on Sept 18-20. This year’s conference was packed with intriguing presentations in six different technical tracks (Languages, Distributed Systems, Big Data / NoSQL, Web, Tools, and Mobile) as well as keynote addresses by Erik Meijer, Gerald Sussman, Allen Wirfs-Brock and Rich Hickey. Steve Totten, Partner at OCI offered the following insight, "The quality of the keynote speakers was excellent. They and the other presenters delivered intuitive, thought-provoking insights into how computing, and the practice of software development continue to evolve -- often challenging their audiences to re-examine long-held assumptions and beliefs."

In support of the conference, OCI’s Mark Volkmann hosted a presentation on CSS3 and Sass and Mario Aquino served as a volunteer and provided expertise in building the conference web site.  Several of the OCI attendees are shown in the following photo.
